Sasori, also known as Sasori of the Red Sand, is a prominent antagonist in the anime series Naruto Shippuden. He was first introduced during the Kazekage Rescue Arc.

Sasori was a powerful ninja from Sunagakure (the Hidden Sand Village) and a member of the Akatsuki, a criminal organization seeking to capture all the Tailed Beasts.

Driven by loneliness and a desire for eternal life, Sasori became a master puppeteer who turned himself into a puppet. He also converted many powerful ninja into his human puppets, which he controlled with his chakra threads.

Sasori's signature puppet was the Third Kazekage, considered the strongest Kazekage in Sunagakure's history. He wielded the Kazekage's signature Iron Sand technique in battle. Ultimately, Sasori was defeated by his grandmother, Chiyo, and Sakura Haruno.
